Blackberry KEYOne (Limited Edition Black):Back With It's Latest Beauty

Canadian smartphone manufacturer, Blackberry has launched it's latest android device in the Indian market as an Amazon exclusive.It will be made available  from August 8 by Blackberry's manufacturing and distribution partner , Optiemus Infracom.

Design

The Blackberry KEYOne has a very unique design with a signature Blackberry mark to it. On front it houses a display,a camera and a QWERTY keyboard with added smartness.It's back panel has a camera setup on the top left corner of the smartphone and a dual tone LED flash.Top end of the smartphone has a 3.5mm headphone jack and a secondary noise cancellation microphone.Bottom end consist of two vents, one for the speaker and the other vent for the primary microphone, it also consist of a USB Type-C port.The right edge houses the dual SIM Hybrid MicroSD slot, volume  rocker and a 'convenience key' that is essentially a shortcut button to access frequently used applications.The left edge houses a power button.It's overall dimensions are 149.3x72.5x9.4mm. At 9.4mm, it is thicker than an Iphone 7 plus and weighs 180g not the lightest phone either.BLACKBERRY KEYOne LOOKS PREMIUM AND FEELS PREMIUM.

Display

Blackberry KEYOne houses a 4.5 inch IPS LCD scratch resistant powerful display with screen resolution of 1620x1080p(pixel). It's display has a pixel density of 433ppi(pixel per inch) with aspect ratio of 3:2.

Keyboard

Now coming to it's unique thing i.e., it's keyboard. The KEYOne's keyboard is a top class keyboard with a feature called "flick type" which allows users to flick predicted words on the screen as they type. Another interesting feature is that every physical key on the KEYOne's keyboard can be customised. The KEYOne's smart keyboard that responds to touch gestures makes web browsing, reading E-mails, writing messages with flick typing a fluid experience. The fingerprint scanner is situated on the space bar and whole keyboard is backlit that means you don't have any problem typing in dark.


Camera

Blackberry KEYOne houses a 12MP rear camera with SonyIMX378 sensor and a dual tone LED flash. It supports Phase Detection Auto Focus (PDAF), Auto Focus, 4X digital zoom, EIS (Electronic Image Stabilization) and 4K video recording at 30fps. It comes with preloaded filters for more custom photography. On front , it houses a 8MP snapper with wide angle field of view and Full HD video recording ability.

Operating System

Blackberry KEYOne comes out of the box with Android Nougat 7.1 with the latest security update of July 5. It comes preloaded with few Blackberry apps such as Blackberry Hub, BBM and DTEK. The User Interface of the phone is pretty close to stock Android, few tweaks such as much more dynamic recent menu are very useful. It is also claimed to be the most secured Android Smartphone with Blackberry' security. It also supports NFC(Near Field Communication).

Processor And Memory

The BB KEYOne features a 2GHz Octacore Snapdragon 625 processor , which is believed to be battery efficient as well and can handle day-to-day tasks easily. It comes with 4GB RAM and 64GB ROM which is expandable via MicroSD card slot.

Battery

This Smartphone sports a 3505mAh battery , which is claimed to be the biggest battery in a Blackberry Phone up to date. According to the company,  50 percent of the phone's battery gets charged in just 36 minutes, thanks to the Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 technology.

Verdict

Blackberry KEYOne seems to be a good combination of decent hardware and software. But for the price of Rs 39,990 KEYOne can only be promising for Blackberry loyalist as it's a little bit expensive when you take a look at it's competitors such as OnePlus 5 and Huwawei Honor 8 Pro.
