Xiaomi Mi MIX 2: 6GB RAM, Rs 35,999 Exclusively Via Flipkart From 17th OCTOBER



Chinese smartphone manufacturer, Xiaomi started the trend of bezel less smartphones with it's Mi MIX smartphone last year, following which many other smartphone manufacturers commenced to introduce bezel less devices. Year 2017 has been the year of bezel less phones, starting from Samsung's Galaxy S8, LG's G6 to Apple's iPhone X. This year Xiaomi has brought Mi MIX 2, follow up of Mi MIX. Let's see what this device has for us.


Built & Design

First of all, it looks gorgeous and premium. It is a very shiny device, regular model is made of aluminum frame and ceramic back while the special edition has ceramic all around the phone. It is a very solid device and gives very sturdy in hand feel. Starting from the front, it has front camera on the right side of the bottom end and microphone on the top of the  screen, volume rockers and power button on the right, charging port, speaker and microphone grills at the bottom and SIM tray on the left side. Back panel has the rear camera which is surrounded by a 24K gold ring and a super fast fingerprint sensor. It doesn't have any 3.5mm headphone jack. The dimensions of Mi  MIX 2 are 151.8x75.5x7.7mm.



Display

Mi MIX 2 boasts a 5.99 inch IPS LCD display with Full HD+ (1080 x 2160) resolution. It has the pixel density of approximately 403 Pixels Per Inch. Mi MIX 2 misses the IP certification meaning it is neither water nor dust resistant.

Camera

Camera has been improved this year in Mi MIX 2. Now it has 12MP rear camera with Sony IMX386 sensor and dual tone LED flash. It has pixel size of 1.25 micron and supports 4K video recording up to 30 Frames Per Second. It also supports Panorama mode, geo-tagging, Optical Image Stabilization (OIS), Phase Detection Auto Focus (PDAF), Face Detection, Touch Focus and High Dynamic Range (HDR). In front it has a 5MP shooter.

OS & Processor

Mi MIX 2 comes with Android Nougat 7.1.1 and MIUI 9, customised skin by Xiaomi over it. 
It is equipped with Qualcomm's latest Snapdragon 835 chipset and Adreno 540 GPU paired with it.

Memory & Battery

It features 6GB RAM and 64GB/128GB/256GB of ROM with no expandable storage.
It is powered by a 3400mAh battery which is equipped with Qualcomm's Quick Charge 3 and Type-C charging port.

Add-Ons

Mi MIX 2 has a Ultrasonic proximity sensor which fires through the screen. This time MIX 2 supports 37 bands of which 22 are LTE bands. It has dual SIM slot and accompanies 2 nano SIM cards.


Verdict

Overall it is a good device and has flagship grade specifications with premium looks, this year Xiaomi has tried everything to commercialize the MIX 2 from being a concept phone, Mi MIX. Lowering the screen size, putting a physical mic, improving camera and the most important thing, supporting more bands. 
Special edition of Mi MIX 2 comes with 8GB RAM and 128GB ROM only, which is not expandable.
It is launched at Rs 35,999 for 128GB variant and will go on sale from 17th October, exclusively on Flipkart. BUY Now
