Flipkart Republic Day Sale 2019, Amazon's Great Indian Sale 2019, Last sale before E-commerce guidelines come into play, Everything You Should Know



India's E-commerce giants Flipkart and Amazon are all prepared to host the first major sale of 2019 named as The Republic Day Sale and The Great Indian Sale by Flipkart and Amazon respectively. The sale will go on for three days on Flipkart from 20th January to 22nd January while on  Amazon it will go on for four days from 20th January to 23rd January.


During these sales Amazon and Flipkart will offer "Superhit" deals on Smartphones, TVs, Fitness equipments, Kitchen appliances, Fashion Products etc. Flipkart has partnered with SBI to offer 10% instant discount on SBI Credit Cards. Flipkart is also offering Damage protection on Smartphones and Buyback guarantee on Smartphones as well as on Laptops. While Amazon has partnered with HDFC to offer 10% instant discount on Debit and Credit cards and on EMIs as well. Other offers include, Debit Card EMI, No cost EMI on Credit cards, Exchange offer on Mobiles, TVs, Appliances, Laptops and more. The sale will start at  12PM on Amazon for Prime members, while Flipkart Plus Members will also get an early access to the sale from January 19th at 8PM. This would be the last sale before the guidelines set by the Department of Industrial Policy Promotion (DIPP) of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry come into play from 1st February. In December, DIPP rolled out the final guidelines for the functioning of e-commerce websites in India. This means that change is awaiting for these e-commerce platforms like Flipkart, Amazon , Paytm etc. to name a few. The biggest impact of these guidelines will be that we will not be getting the attractive discounts and cashbacks on the products that we used to get till now. Now these online marketplaces will have lesser influence on the prices of certain products being sold on their platform.

Some of the great deals on Amazon are:-
  • Honor Play  which will be available for Rs 13,999 straightaway offering discount of Rs 8,000.
  • Huawei P20 Lite will get a price cut of Rs 10,000 and will be available from Rs 12,999.
  • The buyers of Honor View 20 will get free Honor earphones worth Rs 2,999.

Some of the great deals on Flipkart are:-
  • Asus ZenFone 5Z will get a price cut of Rs 8,000 and will sell at Rs 24,999. This is for the 6GB variant. 
  • Asus ZenFone Max Pro M1 will see a price cut of Rs 1000. The 3GB variant of the phone will sell at Rs 8,999 instead of Rs 9,999. The 4GB RAM variant will sell at Rs 10,999 instead of Rs 11,999 and finally the 6GBRAM will be available at Rs 12,999.
  • Realme 2 Pro will receive a price cut of Rs 1,000 and sell at Rs 12,990. The Realme C1 and Realme 2 will also be available at a reduced price of Rs 6,999 and Rs 9,499 respectively.
  • Honor 10 Lite 6GB variant will be available at Rs 13,999 during the sale.
  • Oppo F9 which was earlier available at a starting price of Rs 19,990 will sell at a discounted price of Rs 12,990.
  • The Poco F1 which was earlier available at a starting price of Rs 20,999 will see price cuts across all three variants of the phone. The 64GB storage model will sell at Rs 18,999, 128GB model at Rs 21,999 and 256GB model at Rs 25,999.
